About Us
Our Story
Many years ago, Nick and Kathy Evans, fresh out of university and with no clue what to do with their lives, rented an old LSA nursery in Almodington, growing salads for market. The black & white picture shows them in 1991, with a pallet of tomatoes ready for Covent Garden.

A few years later, they bought a greenhouse and a field in Sidlesham, where they lived in a mobile home with their two children. For more than 20 years, they farmed fruit as Haygrove Sidlesham @ Keymer Brook Farm growing the very best strawberries, raspberries and blackberries for supermarkets and high-end restaurants - even supplying fruit to Didiers, the wonderful patisserie that creates soft fruit-adorned cakes served at royal garden parties.
Eventually, they needed a break from the intensity of supermarket soft fruit growing, but now they're back, with their son Archie, plus a team of seasonal workers, keeping things as local and low carbon as they can, while still offering the same top-quality fruit to their customers.
